In the heart of Erba, not far from the serene shores of the Lecco-Como Lake, Italy, Betakut has been crafting artisan tools for over four decades.

A Cut Above: 40 Years of Excellence

In “Clear Cut Over 40 Years,” the story tells of a family tradition and how the Betakut dress maker scissors have remained within this family for decades. The product creating a story that’s equally fitting with that of Betakut’s traditional heritage, where each cut leaves the very legacy of the craftsmanship (you could almost say!)
We sent Linda a complementary tailor shear (see photo) to start the new journey with the latest product.

A 70 year family tradition cuts a new record (we think!).
Then… some eight months later after Linda’s dress maker scissor story, we had enquiry from the US regarding a similar pair of household, fabric cutting Betakut scissors. This was from Mr Jerry Hobbs of the USA, who enquired about a refurbishment of his family scissors which were of great sentimental value and in circulation for a truly remarkable length of time since circa late 1950’s.

Selfridges: A Beacon of Elegance on Oxford Street
Nestled among the bustling streets of London, Selfridges on Oxford Street proudly showcased Betakut’s masterpieces. The allure of Betakut’s craftsmanship shined bright, captivating shoppers.
One of the products showcased was the “805” model signature pruner in brushed steel, traditionally forged and hand assembled – available in 4 size lengths: 18 cm (805-18), 21 cm (805-21), 23 cm (805-23) and the large 25 cm (805-25).

Lost in the Garden: Where Hope and Faith Flourish
In the enchanting realm of gardens, Betakut’s tools stand as beacons of hope and faith. “Lost in the Garden for Years” paints a picture of resilience and endurance, where artisan products stand the test of time.
Jim from California messaged us and updated that he purchased a pair of the Betakut by-pass gardening shears in CA back in the late 80’s. After many years of use (30 plus!), and a period where they were lost for a number of them, Jim enquired about replacement parts seeking to bring his beloved shears back to life.
We were touched by Jim’s story and his kind words, which inspired us to share the story and send out replacements, including the pruner 805PL-23.
